Time Entry

LiveTimer provides multiple ways to track and review your time: by the day, by the week, or even as you work.

We place a premium on the accuracy of time entries. Therefore, we allow you to track start and end times, rather than just durations (although duration-only time entries are possible too).

Track Time as You Work with the Timer

The most accurate way to track your time is to do so as you work. With this in mind, we've designed our Timer to be quick and easy to use so that it doesn't get in the way of your work.

The Timer can be started, stopped or restarted with a single click. While the Timer is running, you can edit the start time, the classifications, and a note for the active entry. As soon as the Timer is stopped, the new time entry is added to the Time Ledger below.

Review, Edit and Enter Time with the Time Ledger

The Time Ledger resides just below the Timer and can be used to review, create, edit or delete time entries. The Time Ledger is organized as a series of tabs: one tab per day, as well as a total tab for the week. You can quickly navigate to past weeks, even with the Timer running.

As you enter time with either the Timer or the Ledger, time entries in the Ledger are dynamically updated. Gaps and overlaps between adjacent time entries are highlighted, and can be corrected with a single click.

Bulk Entry with the Time Ledger

Time can also be entered "in bulk" one day or one week at a time. The Bulk Entry view in the Time Ledger displays all of your assignments as rows and the day (or days) as columns. The day view allows you to enter notes along with your time entries.

While bulk entry may not be as accurate for tracking time as the Timer, we think you'll find that this is the most efficient way to make many time entries at once.
